When did you join IMET?

I started working here in September 2017. Before that I was a mitigation technician in the restoration business. I would assess homes and businesses that had suffered fire or water damage, then do what was necessary to restore them as they were prior to the damage.

What do you do here at IMET? What is your main responsibility?

I’m getting to see all the sides of the business, so I’m not permanently placed right now. I’ve been on the shop floor and I’m currently assisting with commercial sales, and will also do some financial tasks as well in the future.

What do you need to be good at to do your job well? What particular skills and knowledge do you have?

Time management, communication and a strong initiative. And organization.

What problems do you need to overcome as part of your work?

Problems, or challenges, would probably be strategic planning and ranking of events to meet deadlines.

How do you know when your work has gone well?

When those working around or under you have what they need to complete their job and the business is running seamlessly. Because if one things goes off it will affect the people all around you. If you’re working well and meeting your deadlines you know you’ve done a good job.

What do you enjoy most about your job and working in this industry?

I enjoy the high-intensity environment, and how, if you don’t stay on top of things you’ll fall behind. I like how it keeps you busy and how you’re constantly interacting with other people.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I’m real big into sports, especially baseball. I like hunting and fishing too.
